Eulon Hollingsworth Decides to Become a Child of God

Eulon Hollingsworth decided on Monday to become a child of God. Our baptistery is under construction so the church at 2nd and Adams in Elk was gracious enough to let us use theirs. Eulon is a great guy and has decided late in life to give his life to Jesus. Let us all support him and be there for him as he continues his walk with God.

Great Job!!!!

Ean Price gets Baptized

We are starting off the month of September in a great way with the choice of Ean Price to become a child of God.
With everything going on in the world today, we need all the warriors for God we can get. Congrats to you Ean.

Resting in the arms of GOD

“We can all relate to having crummy days but not in the same way. Children beloved by God have the distinct advantage of resting in the arms of the God of all creation through the crummiest of days.” When there seems to be no good way to move forward. When I am overwhelmed and bombarded with the stress of paying bills, keeping up appearances, changing circumstances, or uncertainty my nature is to close up and try not to move. It is as if I think of what I fear as a T-Rex from Jurassic Park. But in not moving I limit God. While refusing to move I deny God by not running into His arms. Father God, give me courage to run into Your arms when I feel as though I can’t move. Thank You for the refuge You give to Your saints. It never ceases to amaze me that every time I trust in You I don’t fall or fail. Thank You, Amen. Have a blessed day!!!

Saved by Grace

Some want to separate Christianity from anything physical. Saying, “Salvation can never come about from a physical act,” “We are saved by grace so there is no need to do anything,” or “Now that I am a Christian it doesn’t matter how I live.” As “spiritual” as Christianity is, God created us to live in a physical realm for a short life time. Through this understanding it is completely plausible that what we do physically matters to our God who put us here. “Constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father” (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬). Have a blessed day!!

It feels great to be forgiven. When the burden of hurt has started to be lifted off of my shoulders I feel relief and begin to breath again. The sad side to forgiveness, among mankind, is that many times I do that same inconsiderate thing as before and have to ask for forgiveness again. God create a strong desire in me each day to learn from my past mistakes. Please give me the strength I need to change and the wisdom to know how. Amen. Have a blessed day!!

“The absence of fear is not courage. The absence of fear is insanity.” There are scary things in this world. Debt, failure, cancer, and hatred are scary things. We serve an understanding God who knows that we have fears but the most outstanding idea in all of this is that our Savior is there to comfort us and provide a reality outside of our fears. Trusting in God doesn’t mean that I will fear nothing but that these fears will meet my God who is bigger than any fear, burden, or temptation I face. Have a blessed day!!!

Standing Firm

Standing firm in God through job loss or illness, financial ruin or family splits and loss is not easy and is not for the faint of heart. If you are trying to make it through life’s struggles by your own strength or power it is impossible. But when you are anchored to and set your foundation upon the rock, Jesus Christ, you have a chance to outlast the darkness and the storm. I need to tell you that Jesus saved my life. Not just my eternal soul but my life. Not because I made it through a vehicle wreck, people live through that daily. But He gave me strength through grief, He showed me hope when my eyes saw none. He made me feel alive and able though though I thought my life was over and I was disabled. When we build our life (house) upon the rock, our Lord, we get the opportunity to stand when others fall and truly live when others merely exist.

Good People

“Good people are going to be lost. On that final day many people who call themselves Christians and live by Christian creeds will hear Jesus say, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬).” Does the grace of God compel you today to follow His commands leading to salvation of your life and soul?
